APPROVAL OF MINUTES:  D.K. Barr noted that the basketball time clock was to run for 10 minutes a quarter for all grade levels instead of 8 minutes for 4 & 5th graders, as written in the minutes dated January 10, 2008.  Motion by Jeff Fisher, seconded by D.K. Barr to approve the minutes as written with ammendment.  Motion carried.

APPROVAL OF TREASURER’S REPORT:  Motion by Jeff Fisher, seconded by Emily Fisher to approve Treasurer’s Report as written.  Motion carried.

CITIZEN’S COMMENTS:  Brad Burditt from the Grain Valley Chamber of Commerce presented to GVAA an opportunity to work with them this year at the annual fireworks tent. Brad mentioned that in previous years the fireworks tent had profits from $ 9,000 to $ 18,000.  The Commerce is offering GVAA $ 1,000/day profit, assuming the Commerce profits total at least $ 2,000/day.  Brad said that profits on July4th and July 5th would be split 50/50.  The fireworks tent is open for 7 days prior to July 4th and then one day after if fireworks are still available for sale.

A vote will be held in the executive session and the Chamber will be notified tomorrow of the Boards decision.

COMMISSIONER REPORTS:

Soccer – Matt Nelson:  D.K. handed out a commissioner’s report that had an update on the basketball tournament.  She brought the medals for the tournament for everyone to look at.  D.K. announced that she is holding a Coaches Meeting on February 21st at 7:00 pm at Sni-A-Bar Elementary School to get feedback and to get volunteers to help with next year’s basketball season.

Soccer – Matt Nelson: Matt would like to hold soccer signups Feb. 16th and Feb. 23rd because there are currently only 12 children signed up.  D.K. Barr stated that Sni-A-Bar Elementary is open those Saturdays for games so he could use the common area for signups.  It was decided to hold sign-ups at Sni-A-Bar from 10-12 pm both Saturdays.  Right now all ages are being accepted and Matt is working on getting information for the jerseys.  It was decided that Legends Photography would do the pictures for soccer.  TJ asked if a fundraiser was going to be done for soccer and Matt told him he wasn’t sure if it would be too much since the soccer fee was raised $ 20 this year.  Matt is currently trying to get someone to manage the game schedules.  Shannon Davies said that Grain Valley now has a separate rain-out line that isn’t set up yet and Matt suggested possibly setting something up on the GVAA website  and TJ suggested setting up a phone tree.
